Hi
i want to make a board that is stable to paddle in small 3-4' surf, tends to have a bit of water movement rip. I use a 9'2x29" SMIK for sup surf.
Have built a 7'10 x 22" for flat water paddle up( can't do it yet)
I find this board to trick to balance on in the surf.
what sizes are ppl using? Not as a DW board more a surf foil sup. thanks

Yeah if not for DW then drop the length down a bit and go between 6-6-5 as this sizing definitely feels better for wave foiling than using a DW board.
I always love riding the 5'10 x 23 x 92L Egg in the surf as it is just way more fun and easy to pump around plus it still picks up most of the waves.
I have also made a custom proto for myself i have been riding which is 6'1 x 20 x 100L x 4kg which also feels pretty good and feels super nice to pump around on.
Just go a touch wider as you will lose some stability when dropping the length, Maybe something like 6'5 x 24 might be a start if you are making one custom.

Thanks guys appreciate feedback.
Do you find theses size boards easy enough to stand on while waiting for waves?

Yep the extra width makes them reasonably stable ,also a bigger foil
helps stability ??
