Hi folks,

My partner and I just moved to Perth from Melbourne and we're itching to check out the northern spots like Exmouth and Shark Bay for Christmas. Do you think we can handle the heat if we roll in a caravan with AC? And what's the deal with the wind around this time? Or should we just head south for a cooler vibe?

Cheers!

Hi TingtingBi,

based on the long term forecast, it's going to be quite hot between Christmas and New year so not the best idea to go North if your main plan is to do some kiting.

much better idea to head south between Augusta and Albany, much cooler temps and the forecast looks great down there so far.

Have a look at our location guide for details about popular kite spots accross WA: www.kitebud.com.au/locations/

A little known fact is that when you have a heatwave in Perth (35c +) with no sea breezes (or very weak breezes), you're almost always guaranteed to have strong SE, SEE and E winds down south

Have fun
