The presence of the Australian marine industry will be as prominent as ever at this year's Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.
Australia's leading internationally focused marine industry organisations, Australian Marine Export Group (AIMEX) and Superyacht Australia (SYBA), have joined forces to showcase the best of Australian products and promote Australia as an idyllic cruising destination offering first class service, quality refits and repairs and world class events.
The Australia-based company Aqualuma, a leading manufacturer of ultra-bright, long-lasting and low power-drawing marine lights, and current Australian Exporter of the year, has shown its support by confirming it will continue to be a major a sponsor for the 2011 show.
'Australian manufacturers and boat builders are major players in the international market. They have developed an excellent reputation in the United States and are confident of success at Fort Lauderdale coming on the back of an already successful show in Monaco,' says AIMEX Chief Executive MaryAnne Edwards.
VEEM's new VEEMUltraskew propeller is quickly growing a reputation in global yacht and superyacht markets. Trial results from 2011 orders have been a resounding success with significant improvements to speed, smoothness and fuel efficiency enjoyed by shipyards in the USA, Europe, Asia and Australasia. The VEEMUltraskew propeller draws inspiration from airplane wing tips that recover lost energy in the form of tip vortices.
It has only been the recent advance of CFD technology that has allowed a full understanding of the intricate flow in the tip region of the propeller, and the ability to design/verify a truly effective solution. CFD also ensures that the tip design can be optimised to suit each application and is not simply a generic design. Every VEEM propeller is fully custom designed, 100% CNC machined on the latest 5 axis machinery, robotically polished to a high lustre and balanced to turbine standards.
VEEM will be showcasing this advanced new design at the show. Muir Winches, a world leading manufacturer of windlasses and anchor systems for the Superyacht sector and Hydrive Engineering, the largest manufacturer and exporter of Hydraulic boat steering gear in the Southern Hemisphere will also be exhibiting at the show.
This year's show will take place October 27-31. Australia has a prominent position in the designer pavilion and will once again be showcasing the Australia Unlimited brand.
