Hawkesbury River Canoe Race exclusion zone: Saturday 22nd

NSW Maritime has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence for a section of the Hawkesbury River this Saturday, 22 October.

NSW Maritime Acting Regional Manager Hawkesbury River/ Broken Bay Hendrik Clasie said boaters should avoid the area of the Hawkesbury River between Macquarie Park, Windsor, and the Sackville Ferry from 3pm to midnight.

'This section of the river will be used specifically for the safe operation of the Hawkesbury River Canoe Classic event,' Mr Clasie said. 'Control vessels will monitor the event area and advise boaters not to enter for safety reasons.'

Mr Clasie said unauthorised vessels would not be permitted to enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by event organisers, a NSW Maritime Boating Safety Officer or a Police Officer.
