Simple shots can turn out amazing... Like this!
Brandon Palaniuk is a name you’re sure to have heard if you’re online as much as we are. Sponsored by GoPro, the man is famous for publishing beautifully filtered instagram shots of his fishing escapades, all shot by GoPro of course.
So if anyone is going to know where to mount a GoPro while you’re fishing, it’s this guy. Here are some of his tips…
Take several cameras, if you can afford them. Nothing looks better than several different angles of the same action.
Some of the simplest places can produce amazing shots, like the classic GoPro ‘Chesty’ mount. Brandon says he seems to get the most out of that one.
Be imaginative with your camera locations! The only bad shot is the one you never tried, and the shots with the lens cap still on!
You can never have enough sticky mounts. The more the better, so litter your boat with those little black mounts and move your camera every time you remember.
Make sure you utilize the GoPro App on your phone to frame the shots. ‘Framing’ means moving your camera so everything fits in the shot!
Remember you can also use that app to go scouting! Put your camera on a pole, stick it under the boat, jetty or rocks to see what’s happening underwater.
Follow these tips for mounting a camera while you’re fishing and you might just turn out to be the next ‘big thing’ on YouTube!
