Five million in twelve months for NSW anglers
Over the last twelve months over five million fingerlings have been released into NSW waterways.
Under the NSW stocking program fish are released into impoundments, public rivers and streams to help stock local waterways for recreational anglers. Hatcheries in Narrandera, Ebor, Jindabyne and Port Stephens are used for producing the fish.
The five million fish released include:
- 2,083,000 Rainbow Trout
- 1,355,292 Golden Perch
- 687,679 Brown Trout
- 347,606 Murray Cod
- 252,480 Atlantic Salmon
- 116,000 Silver Perch
- 96,980 Australian Bass
- 60,350 Brook Trout
- 8,000 Trout Cod
- 37 Southern Pygmy Perch
In addition to this over three million juvenile eastern king prawns have been stocked in Wallagoot Lake in southern NSW.
