NSW Fishcare looking for volunteers
NSW anglers are being invited to join the Fishcare Volunteer Program. Industry & Investment NSW is planning a two-day training session for inland volunteers on the weekend of 26 - 27 June at the Narrandera Fisheries Centre.
Anyone who is 18 years or older with a keen interest in recreational fishing could nominate to train to become a fishcare volunteer.
Training includes presentations by Industry & Investment staff about the recreational fishing fees, fishing rules and regulations, conservation and habitat, catch and release techniques, fisheries research, the volunteer codes of practice, policies and communication skills.
There is also an accredited TAFE training component in fish biology and identifying fish species and at the end of the workshop participants would receive a statement of attainment from TAFE NSW.
