It’s the biggest charity fishing event in Australia, and last year raised a whopping $130,000 for Prostate Cancer. For just $20, you too can join the effort for next year!

Pre-registration is now open for the 2015 Pirtek Fishing Challenge; Australia’s Biggest Fishing Event. Last year saw the record smashed with 8500 entrants from every corner of the country, this year it’s hoped to make 10,000 anglers competing, which should raise over $200,000 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

So how does it work? Entry is $20, (plus some postage costs for your shirt) which goes straight to charity. Sponsors donate thousands worth of prizes (Last year, $155,000!) and on one day, you fish.

You fish, and you fish, then when you catch something you record it, release it and on the process goes. All over the country people are doing the same and that night, the results are tallied, and winners are crowned. Do you have what it takes to beat 9999 of your fellow anglers?
