Registrations open for NSW Fish Habitat Forum

On 4-5 June recreational anglers from New South Wales and beyond will be converging on Lake Macquarie for the Fishers for Fish Habitat Forum, a forum aimed at raising awareness of issues affecting fish habitats and the State's fisheries resources.

The forum is free for recreational fishers and is a component of the angler driven Fishers for Fish Habitat project and is funded by money raised by the NSW Recreational Fishing Trust.

This year's focus will be to build on last year's successful inaugural event and to provide an opportunity for like-minded rec fishers to discuss habitat issues, communicate directly with Government agencies and identify ways to help make more fish . naturally," she said.

Attendees will also hear results from monitoring work taking place in the State's rivers, see local fish habitat restoration at work and gain an insight from special guests from the USA into their National Habitat Action Plan, which recreational fishers played a key in establishing.

To find out more information or to register for this event you can download the registation form (106 kb PDF), email fish.habitat@dpi.nsw.gov.au or telephone (02) 6626 1107.
