WA anglers reminded of demersal scalefish ban
Western Australia's recreational anglers are being reminded that fishing in the West Coast Bioregion (between Kalbarri and Augusta) is now closed to fishing for bottom dwelling species. This closure will remain in place from 15 October 2010 through to 15 December 2010.
The closure applies to a number of species including dhufish, pink snapper and baldchin groper in an effort to help reduce the overfishing of these species.
For all the relevant information and background to the closure check out the WA Fisheries website.
