Get to Townsville as fast as you can!

It’s been hailed as QLD’s version of the Lighthouse to Leighton, without the weed issues. So when Australia’s fastest racers get on the ferry to Magnetic Island on the 29th of August; we’re in for a show.

The rules are simple. Start at Arcadia Bay on Magnetic Island (when the gun goes of course), cross the finish line off The Strand outside Towsville. First over the line scores some serious cash. No equipment rules, capped at 80 entrants and part of the legendary Magnetic Island Race Week. What more could a racer want?

Usual wind directions in Townsville at this time of year are from the ENE to ESE, and they’re as reliable as the sunrise, so if you’re into racing and have some fast gear laying around, get up there to participate in a session of epic proportions.

Our bets are on the hydrofoils this year, with the new developments in equipment and the riders more experienced than ever before, the flyers are sure to be at the front of the pack. Close behind will be the guys on slalom boards, followed by the race boards, then the twintips.

Sharing in over $2000 worth of prize money, $80 gets you a ticket on the ferry and entry to the event. Remember it’s capped at 80 entrants so get in quick.
