GKA Distance Battle - an online kitesurfing event

Incase you hadn't noticed, there is a bit of a sickness floating around that is preventing world travel. One of the casualties is the Global Kitesurfing Associations' world tour.

They've decided to innovate and are conducting the "GKA Distance Battle", where kitesurfing competitors from around the world submit their best moves via video, and votes are cast by the audience. A great solution to a big problem, and best of all it enables all us world-champion-wannabe's to see the best of the best submitting the best of their best footage in their efforts to win a world title.

The GKA Distance Battle, a first of its kind, online, kitesurfing competition is about to start and the competition will begin with the Men's Freestyle heats.

Over the last month athletes from around the world have been giving it their all, riding their home spots and recording the action, ready to be used as heat entries for the GKA Distance Battle.

The waiting is finally over, on Tuesday 22nd of September we will see the start of the online competition and the beginning of the live action.

Competition starts with the Men's Twintip Freestyle Quarterfinals, they will be broadcast online via the GKA Distance Battle event page, with running commentary from Jo Ciastula and feedback from the official GKA judges team, along with live interviews with riders.

Unfortunately, all the events are broadcast live at around 4am EST (2am WST) - no doubt there will be a reviewable stream.
