NKL Returns in 2017, bigger and BETTER!
Entries are now open to any rider wishing to compete, no matter which state you live in! Last year, only riders from that state were allowed entry, with the grand final bringing winners together from all over the country to the Gold Coast. This year, the hottest riders will be touring the country to earn more points, and then when they're all tallied up in January - it's back to the Gold Coast again.
Dropping a couple of locations allows for bigger events in major kiteboarding hot-spots. This year the NKL will visit the Gold Coast, Perth, Christchurch, Sydney and Melbourne, before returning to the Gold Coast for the grand final. Melbourne will be one of the largest events of the tour, encompassing Foil and Twin Racing in conjunction with the Royal Brighton Yacht Club.
Big Air is back, and bigger than ever! With a dedicated competition in 2016, riders will ditch the bindings and take the straps for a session full of big boosts, kiteloops and board-offs.
Finally, a side of the NKL that many would call the best, Have a Go sessions will be running on the morning of every event once again. Allowing the general public to have a taste of the sport through trainer kites, these sessions were incredibly popular last season, and brought a ton of newcomers into the sport!
