School Holiday 'Supreme' Sessions with Manny Blanch

"This trip my main focus was to land a back mobe 5, and I did! Nailing three back mobe 5's back to back, felt amazing."
Elliot Heads is one of the best kept secrets in Queensland, with flat water, no crowds and the best wind of both seasons, it's a kiters paradise. Truly 'supreme' if you're a kiter grom on school holidays, like Brisbane based ripper Manny Blanch.

In summer, Elliot heads is far enough south that it gets pumping seabreezes, and in winter, it's just north enough to get the edge of the south east trade winds. Don't be fooled by the video, this is all shot in one place! There's a huge lagoon that fills up on a full moon, allowing access to some fun mangroves to boost, and at low tide, the flat water oasis emerges. 50m wide and nearly a kilometer long, the channel is deep enough to throw down some serious freestyle, or lock in and crank some speed runs. Oh, and it's nearly perfectly aligned across the wind!

During the trip, Manny had both old and new tricks, on the agenda, "My front to blind was one of my favourite tricks which I had lost over time, and I found the easiest way to get it back was to break the trick down. I worked on the right pop and landed a few front rolls to begin with, before furthering it to the front to blind."

"The back mobe 5 was always a trick that was within my reach (to land), however I never really spent time trying it. This trip my main focus was to land one, and I did! Nailing three back mobe 5's back to back, felt amazing."

As school goes back, he'll be hitting the books more than the sandbars, but on the holidays this kid has big plans for the kiting comps! Look out for him, and his regular kiting videos posted in the Seabreeze.com.au kiteboarding forums, and check out his latest from Elliot Heads in QLD - Supreme.
