Style, Power & 'How did he do that?' - Kite Goons

Rebstock and Alldredge - pushing the sport
in the right direction for 2013...
Strapless freestyle is fast becoming the flavour of the month in kiteboarding, but when you mix that with powerful surfing and ballsy barrels, you've really got something!

Rebstock and Alldredge show us how it's done, with some world class riding in Cape Town, South Africa. These two have been at the forefront of freeride kitesurfing for a few years now, often taking the sport to weird (and cold) places, as well as pushing their skills and inventing new tricks. This video isn't about the trickery though, because what was absolutely incredible last year (like the surfboard no-grab 360's) is pretty common place now. Now for 2013 it's more about simple tricks, which need to be thrown down hard, fast and with style in order to get noticed.

Aside from the big tricks, the avid surfers amongst us will notice their technique is getting better by the week. Critical surfing and smooth turns blur the lines between using a kite and using the waves power. A good mix of hooked in slashes and laid out unhooked smacks also adds to the variety in their riding. Then just when you think you've seen it all - they tuck up and pull into some respectable barrels to cap off the wave.

Take a leaf out of these guys books, get out there and ride no matter the conditions, and don't be afraid to tuck into anything that looks like it might throw out!
