It’s been a long time coming, but the boys from the Freeride Project are back after a year long break. Expected to be released late in 2013, it’s taken another three months to render, will the wait be worth it?

They call themselves the UK Crew, a VIP list of kiteboarders that pack some serious credentials. Tom Court, Aaron Hadlow, Sam Light and James Boulding. You know who they are, you know what they can do with a kite. Now you’re going to see what they’ve been doing all year. Expect greatness.

What makes the Freeride kite project so cool is the lack of pressure of competing for the guys (and the occasional cameo from a girl). Cruising around the world, scoring promo material for their kitesurfing sponsors and having a great time while they're at it, these guys have the best job in the world and it shows through their riding. It's smooth, stylish and always as high tech as you could imagine, with a bit of kiteboard freestyle; lots of wakestyle and plenty of crashes. Oh and the girls too, they're pretty good.

Pay particular attention to the music in the promo clip below, customized music is fast becoming a must-do for action sports these days. With copyright laws getting harder to crack, editors can’t just slap on any top-30 song and sync the riding to it. The FRP (Freeride Project) had a rapper named Joe Publik make his own song, record it, produce it and then, only then, could the video editors slap it onto the timeline. It’s great to see a kite movie go to such lengths to be awesome, and if they’ve gone to that much effort, what’s the movie going to be like? It’s 33minutes long, and it’s free. What more could you ask for?
