WAKSA is now Kiteboarding Western Australia!
After many discussions, it was recently voted at the WAKSA AGM that the association would re-brand from the "West Australian Kitesurfing Association" to "Kiteboarding Western Australia" (Kiteboarding WA).
Along with the new name, the association will be developing a new visual identity which will include new branding, colours and a logo to represent the organisation. Why are we re-branding? The main reasons for the re-brand include clarifying our position as the West Australian state representative of the organisation Kiteboarding Australia. The name change will also better represent our identity and make it better aligned with our fellow State sporting bodies. The association also recently attained recognition by the state government as the peak sporting body for Kiteboarding in WA, a first for any kiteboarding association across Australia. With this in mind, we felt the timing was right to make such a change. What Kiteboarding WA want from you In order to help develop and reinforce our identity as an association that represents and advocates on behalf of the kiteboarding community, we want to know what kiteboarding in Western Australia means to you! We are requesting submissions from our members and the kiteboarding community in WA to submit your images, stories and any media that you feel convey the unique experience that is kiting in West Australia! It could be anything that you've seen or experienced that you feel strongly represents the locations and community that we are so lucky to share that makes WA a world class location for kiteboarding. The submissions received will be used to help inform the re-branding process and the development of a new visual identity that will represent the organisation for many years to come!
