Magnetic Island Race Week: enter now to Volvo In-Port ticket

The SeaLink Magnetic Island Race Week event organisers are offering a very special incentive for boat owners that enter Race Week sooner rather than later.

One lucky boat owner, who enters Race Week before the 31st July 2014, will win two tickets to Auckland for the Volvo Ocean Race stopover in March 2015 when the city comes alive with the arrival of the powerful Volvo 65 blue-water racing machines.

The SeaLink Magnetic Island Race Week is being held from 28th August to 2nd September with entries closing on 22nd August. This year there will be five days of racing in seven class – IRC, PHS, Cruising Spinnaker, Cruising Non Spinnaker, Sports Boats, Multihull Racing and Multihull Cruising. The courses will be a mix of Cleveland Bay races, windward/leewards and the highlight, the Around Magnetic Island Race.

The early entry incentive is open until the 31st July. Entries received between now and the 30th June will receive three tickets in the draw. Between the 1st July and 31st July, entries will receive two tickets, while entries received after that will receive only one ticket.

The prize is supplied courtesy of Volvo Commercial Vehicles, Antill Marine and SeaLink.

The lucky boat owner will win two tickets to be on-board the Volvo spectator boat for Volvo Ocean Race 2014/15 Auckland In-Port Race on 14th March. Food and beverages on-board the spectator boat will be included as well as a fabulous group dinner afterwards.

This exciting prize also includes a flight voucher to the value of $1,000 and four-night’s accommodation in Auckland.

The winner will be drawn at the final Presentation Dinner and boat owners must be present to claim the prize.

The Notice of Race and the online entry for the nine divisions is at www.magneticislandraceweek.com.au. Entries close Friday 22nd August 2014.

Magnetic Island Race Week is hosted by Townsville Yacht Club. Sponsored by SeaLink. Supported by Magnetic Island Marina, City of Townsville, Yachting Queensland and Townsville Enterprise.
