Mandurah Easter Regatta 2012 is on again

2012 Mandurah Easter Regatta – 6 to 9 April
2012 Mandurah Easter Regatta – 6 to 9 April

Fresh after holding the Fireball Sailing Dinghy World Championships, the Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Club will once again be conducting their 2012 Easter Regatta from 6th to 9th April. This event is now famous throughout the sailing communities of Western Australia.

It is a coaching regatta, which allows the tension and pulse-quickening competitiveness of close dinghy racing with assistance from renowned coaches in motor boats winding throughout the fleet giving sailors hints on their sailing skills and tactics.

Yachting Australia chose the Mandurah Easter Regatta to be part of the Youth Sailing Grand Prix and continues for this year’s event. That gives both the MOFSC and Mandurah profile and exposure.

The Mandurah Easter Regatta is currently the only Yachting WA sanctioned coaching regatta on the Yachting WA calendar. It attracts quality coaches, including Olympic coaches and other high quality coaches from around the country. Legendary Olympic Coach Mike Fletcher said of this regatta, "That there should be more regattas around Australia like this one where you can get on the water to coach all the sailors. Where usually you are 200 meters away and have to rely on video, you can make the changes straight away and see the improvement in the sailors.

Yachting Australia chose the Mandurah Easter Regatta to be part of the Youth Sailing Grand Prix and continues for this year’s event.

The MOFSC is hosting the "505", class dinghy Australian Championship during the same period as the Mandurah Easter Regatta. These are very fast, powerful sailing craft that require a high degree of skill and courage to sail them in the typically blustery conditions we can expect over Easter. Due to the expected number of yachts that will attend this regatta next year we will have four course areas in Comet Bay.

Notice of Race can be found on Mandurah Offshore Fishing and Sailing Clubs Website mofsc.com.au
