Sailing, drones and the West Indies.

Antigua, a Sailors paradise...
With winter fast approaching, gone are the days of tropical afternoons on the water and sailing in board shorts. Ahead you’re looking forward to wetsuits and thermal underwear, cold water and frigid winds.

Unless you’re sailing in the Caribbean right now. Enjoying year round tropical conditions, the sailing here simply has to be seen to be believed, and what better way to see it than from the air.

Check out the video below to see boats small and large, ranging from hydrofoiling moths and kiteboards to multi-million dollar super yachts. Cruisers, catamarans, trimarans and trailer sailors, you name it and some lucky sailor has their hands on the tiller in the Caribbean right now.

Shot from a multirotor, (or a drone if you prefer), the company Pigeon Vision is one of the best when it comes to over-water aerial photography. They are the same guys responsible for the amazing footage of the

' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>superyacht having it’s mast removed (sounds boring, looks amazing) that we saw last month. Based in Antigua, in the West Indies, they enjoy the freedom to fly around wherever they choose. Luckily for them, it just happens to be spectacular and open to commercial use. Speaking of which, the US is currently reviewing laws restricting the commercial use of drones for aerial photography. Give it a few months and expect aerial shots to become the new norm for sailing footage. The unique viewpoint not only makes for spectacular viewing, but provides an easier to understand vantage point for the average-joe. But back to the tropical sailing…

Go make yourself a Piña Colada, sit back and bask in the Caribbean sunlight for a few minutes.
