After spending more than a year off the water rebuilding the 60ft Trimaran, Team Vodaphone Sailing is offering you the chance to sail her.

The catch is, you’re going to do it via helicopter! Yep, you heard right, Team Vodaphone is being fitted out with some high tech radio controlled gear so it can be sailed via smartphone, over their new 4g network. To prove it, they’re going to put one customer in the left hand seat of a helicopter, crew up the 60ft boat and let them have a bash at sailing at it from their phone.

It’s all to promote their network of course, but how cool would it be to experience! Mimicking their new smartphone game, where you’re challenged to steer Team Vodaphone around a timed course, it’s a simple concept. From the helicopter the user can only select left and right commands, but seeing that translate to a 60ft trimaran would just be too cool.
