Currumbin SUPerstars leave team Fantatic

It’s been a long paddle for Currumbin SUPerstars Paul and Angie Jackson, from starting their own little store called Roar Industries several years ago, to chasing down world titles in racing divisions during 2015. But now, they’ve both turned a corner in their stand up paddling careers, choosing to leave major sponsors of four years Fanatic.

The Jacksons and Fanatic were kind of like DJ and Naish… You can’t have one without the other, but it’s not like Paul and Angie are the first big names to jump ship from long time sponsors! Soon the news will be nothing more than history, and whomever they choose as their new equipment partners will quickly become the norm.

“We both want to thank Fanatic for the time we have been with them as for us its been like a huge family and have been super excited to see it grow over the years in to the super strong brand it is today.” Said the couple on social media this week.
“It has been unreal to work behind the scenes and be a part of a great team in developing what we believe to be some of the worlds best boards in both surfing and racing, I know how much effort and energy these guys put in to development and know they will be at the front of our sport for many years to come.”

So who are they going to be paddling for? Well, right now, themselves! Details of the new sponsors are being kept quiet; but you can be sure of one of two things. Paul and Angie Jackson will be picked up (or have already been picked up by) a major sponsor like Starboard or Naish. Or, they’re going to be headlining their own company.

The greats have done it, guys like Liard and Kalama; so why not Paul and Angie? We’re pretty excited to see what happens over the next few weeks, so if you want the most up to the minute information, keep your eyes peeled on the Seabreeze.com.au Stand Up Paddling forums.
