Join your local Stand Up Paddle Club
With 2015 looking to continue the upward trend of the sport of stand up paddling, why not make a resolution to improve your paddling experience? In 2014 we’ve seen new clubs start, disciplines expand and competitions run in the most amazing of locations! So if you’re sitting around on New Years Eve with nothing better to think about, here’s three ideas for a New Years Stand-up-olution!

Join a club

A quick search through the Seabreeze.com.au ‘SUP Club Talk’ forums will get you in touch with a stand up paddling club near you. Joining a club is not only a way to access events and competitions, but to join the social network (the REAL kind!) with other stand up paddlers in your area. You can also get involved in tackling any local issues associated with the sport, help introduce newcomers and even organize events!

Start a new style Have you ever tried Racing? Have you paddled into a wave? Stood on your head? Stand Up Paddling is incredibly diverse, and paddlers near you are practicing disciplines you’ve never tried! Learning a new style if one of the best ways to improve your all round paddling, so get on board (yeah, pun intended) with some other paddlers and try something new this new year.

Enter a competition

Stand Up Paddling competition aren’t just for professionals, they’re for paddlers like you! Competing is great fun, costs less than a new rashie (which usually comes included in the entry fee) and is guaranteed to introduce you to someone new. Join your local club, browse through the Stand Up Paddling Events page here on Seabreeze.com.au and enter a stand up paddling event in 2015!
