Stand Up Paddling in Gorgeous -21C Norway
Norway, is known for many great things... Extremely cold winters and the fact there's as little as three hours of daylight each day are not among them. But stand up paddlers for Fanatic Kai and Lena knew there was more to Norway, and when they set out on a camping trip with their fleet of stand up paddle boards, they found a winter landscape that is truly amazing.
"SUP is an outdoor sport, which means you are going to challenge the elements, seeing what your body is capable of." Explains Kai, "Our journey led us to Norway in the middle of winter, to explore the beauty of this country on our SUP's. Norway welcomed us with temperatures around minus 21?C and snow covered landscapes. Sleeping in a tent in winter was it's own challenge and cooking with deep frozen food another one. This was all worth it and made this adventure one that I will remember forever. It was so stunning to paddle in all these amazing places in the quietness of winter. Thanks to Lena for joining me on this trip, showing that girls can also handle the tough conditions!"
While you're sweltering through the 30 degree days here in Australia, think about these guys in -21 degrees only a few weeks ago in Norway. Where would you rather be?
