Stand Up World Tour Cancelled - Surfers not surprised
Earlier this month, the Stand Up World Tour announced that the final two stops of the tour in France and Morocco are cancelled, leaving the sports paddlers in quite a constructive debate as to why. The Stand Up World Tour is the surfing side of the Waterman League's professional competition scene, with the Stand Up World Series (being the flat water side), still continuing as planned. Why the events were cancelled is anybodies uess right now, until the Waterman League released an official statement about their future. Until that happens, the Seabreeze.com.au forums are buzzing with speculation ranging from 'the boards are too small', to 'the locations were too remote and expensive'. all valid points, and if taken constructively could be a turning point in the world of professional SUP surfing. Right now, Izzy Gomez and Caio Vaz are celebrating though, after being crowned the 2015 world champions! The US Open of surfing which wrapped up this week was their final competition, with one of the three remaining events (In Brazil) already being cancelled earlier in the year. Nobody could have expected the final two stops being cancelled however...
