Winter SUP Challenge fills event poster with sponsors
An easy task if you read the ‘sponsor us’ message from Tassie SUP last month, which said the Winter Classic is “Recognised as one of the most prestigious events on the global SUP calender with exposure in international SUP publications and forums, this is the sort off publicity that money can't buy.”
Who are we to object to such claims! All we know is that those guys down in Tasmania are a great crew, and make the most of what can only be described as perfect weather for penguins in June.
6mm wetsuits and booties are the clothing of choice for the Winter Classic, yes, Queenslanders, there is such a thing as a 6mm wetty!
It’s cold down there at the best of times, but to make light of it all the boys and girls from Tassie Sup Club chose to hold their most high profile event in the dead of winter. It’s been running for a few years now, each year accompanied by a forum thread containing hilarious pre-event tips, SUP-themed jokes and one or two pictures of questionable taste -our eyes cannot un-see the picture of 8 male stand up paddlers in a spa together.
If that’s the kind of event you’re interested in, (no, not the spa event!) then get in there (again, not the spa!) and register your interest in attending what can only be described as Tasmania’s best winter stand up paddling event – the Tassie SUP Winter Classic on the 20-21st of June 2015
