Keahi De Photographer - Longboards at Noosa.

Since the Noosa Waterman Keahi De Aboitiz shattered his ankle earlier in the year, he’s been chomping at the bit to get back into the waves. The Ex kitesurfing world champ, and one of the leaders in the stand up paddle surfing world still has a few months out of the water, but in the meantime he’s turned his hand to flying drones around off Noosa to film the longboarders!

Now you probably know about Noosa, First Point in particular. The long peeling right hander breaks down the national park and plays host to some of the best longboarding you’ll ever see. The wave is perfect for longboards, and many a world champ has made the paddle, or walk out to sample First Point for themselves.

Filming from an entirely different angle, watch as Keahi flys his quadcopter (It’s a DJI Phantom if you’re interested) backwards down the lineup. Following the surfers like this takes some decent skill, not to mention the risk of losing a motor on the aircraft and plummeting into the ocean.
