ROLA Victorian Longboard Titles ready to go...
(The Pines, Mornington Peninsula, 31st March, 2011): The ROLA Victorian Longboard Titles Presented by VB will be kicking off in a brand new location for 2011 on the weekend, with some of the best Longboard riders in the state converging on the right hand point break to claim the first event of the year.
The Pines on the Mornington Peninsula will now join the existing event on the Surfcoast to create a two event series for Victorian Longboading.
With predicted offshore winds all weekend, there is sure to be some amazing action in the water with many competitors only just returning back from the Noosa Festival of Surfing, a massive Longboard festival
in Queesnland, and the ASP Longboard Qualifying Series, Malfunction Surf Festival in Kingscliff, New South Wales.
Coming off a great 3rd place at the Malfunction Surf Festival is Emma Webb (Jan Juc) who will be looking to
continue her success at The Pines this weekend.
Also competing will be local, Kane Tankard (Dromana) who will have all the local knowledge to get a win at home in the Open Men’s division.
Last year’s Open Men’s Second place getter, Adam Lynch (Geelong) will be heading across the bay to trying and go one better on last year and take out the Open Men’s Division.
In the older divisions, past longboard champions Greg Brown (Jan Juc), Bob Smith (Jan Juc), John Ayton (Jan Juc) and Phil Trigger (Pt. Leo) will all be back to defend their titles at a brand new location.
The Event schedule will be on the Surfing Vic website on Friday
