In a million years from now, the inhabitants of earth will wonder who this Kelly Slater bloke was… They will know he was a big deal, because everyone was talking about him for 50 years! This week Kelly has caused the surfers of the world to turn green with jealousy, and all he did was send out a couple of texts.

That wave pool. You know the one; with a chocolate coloured and millimetre perfect barrel that runs right for 45 seconds of bliss. Kelly's Wave Pool. You saw it a couple of months ago, and until now nobody but Kelly Slater himself has surfed that wave. It truly is a wave that only ONE person has surfed, where else can you find that in the world?

Well, without a few billion in your account, it ain't gonna happen. Even Kelly is about to lose his title, because he's declared the wave pool ready. At least for the select few surfers in his contacts app.

There are three days booked for the pool. One for just Slater and John John Florence, the next for the girls - Carissa Moore and Steph Gilmore, and a grand finale for all his mates. The only rule - no cameras. So don't expect to be drooling over your morning coffee next Monday morning. In fact the dates of the events are being kept under wraps too.

One day in the next few months, a handful of the luckiest surfers alive will get to sample the best wave in the world. Some day, we might get to see the footage taken by the official Slater Wave Company media crew. Another day, you might be able to book a slot on the wave pool yourself, for the chance to tuck into the most perfect barrel you've ever seen.
