One of Maui's staples in the surfing calendar, the Peahi Challenge marks the beginning of big wave season for the islands. This week there were big waves, that's for sure!

15-16ft Peahi (Jaws) monsters, not the biggest we've ever seen but absolute classic conditions for Jaws. The best of the best were out there paddling in with their guns, because tow-ins aren't allowed, and boy did they put on a show for the hundreds of spectators perched up on the hill to watch. Just take a listen to the shutters flicking in the video below. There's millions of photos stored on SD cards of those few days, most of which never destined for the internet.

Good news though, you can watch all the surfing highlights through the lens of the crew from PureDIGITALMaui. They've collected the best from the top of the hill and slowed down the wipeouts. Enjoy!
