Surfing is all about expression right? Being at one with the ocean, surfing waves and hanging out with friends? Perhaps a little showing off. Maybe escaping from the daily grind. Robin Kegel knows that.

He's not trying to imitate, and surfers might not even try to imitate his style. Because it's a little weird, at least compared to the cutback, pump, cutback, pump, aerial style of shortboard surfing we see every day. Maybe he things shortboarding is weird though.

Gerry Lopez once went on record saying, "Surfing is attitude dancing." That's probably the best way to descirbe Robin's out-of-the-box surfing style, and mold breaking moves.
