Hi Guys

I thought I would do this build thread as i'm interested in feedback as we are building a facility on the Central Coast NSW Australia to go with our new retail store at long Jetty.

We are doing a epoxy only facility as it was way easier to get through council and be approved, yes it wont be everyones cup of tea, but good thing about epoxy (as we all know) it can be used with all foams - just need to educate the customers coming in
So it will be 2 shaping bays 4.5m long by 2.2m wide and 2.7 high, sanding bay same size and glassing room 7m x 3.5m and 2.7 high - we have made the shaping bays big enough to fit any thing from kiteboards, shortboards up to Sups and windsurfers.
we have put the frames up and now working on the lights and power points.

So my first feed back point:
- what height do you like your lights at? i'm thinking 42 inches ( 1.05m) I am trying t get it to suit most people? I was doing it 95cm in my last bay but im shorter..? thoughts

- 4 power points in each bay

Adjustable stands would require adjustable lights, they always need to be inline with each other, you'd need both.

thanks - yep that would work but massive expense. the adjustable stands is more that its going to be set at the height of the lights. so I think i'll stay at my original plan of 42 inch high

Wiring up the frame today.

Adjustable lights would be easy and cheap.

Fix the lights and the stands and have adjustable height platforms to walk on.

Agreed, a simple pulley system would be all you need.

You could suspend the light on a chain, do not thread power cable through chain, the height is adjusted by hooking light into suitable link. You'll work it out, cheap and easy, your sparky should have suitable ideas.
