Oxycodone gets a mention. Also known as Hill Billy Heroin, or artificial heroin.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxycodone
Wiki also says; OxyContin's (a brand of Oxycodone) warning label said to not crush the controlled-release tablets because of the potential for rapid release of oxycodone, which led to many people crushing the tablets and injecting or snorting the drug.
Yes , it is long and interesting but I wish that I didnt read it .
Some things are better left unsaid
I do agree with what your saying GF and I get your point.
Personaly I was/am a massive AI fan and have been for a long time , and the reason I said that I wish I had'nt have read it is primarily because thats just not how I wanted to remember Andy.
This is how he should be remembered
Fair nuf.
Both were how he was in reality tho.
Seems like Bruce Irons wants people to learn from the tragedy.
I don't idolize anyone, whether sporting, musical, writers.. whatever. I do respect what some people who change the world achieve, but like my dad always said (in his eloquent way) "Everyone has to sit down to sh!t"
From nine msn < worst news reporting ever!! read this tho
An autopsy report on three-time world champion surfer Andy Irons will not be released for at least six months after his widow argued in a court filing that the report could tarnish her husband's "brand".
Judge Melody Wilkinson approved a December 21 petition in Fort Worth Texas for a temporary injunction relief in which Irons' wife cited the "intense news frenzy" and "innuendo of drug use" surrounding her husband's death.
By delaying the report's release, a more accurate report into Irons' death could be compiled, the petition stated.
Irons, 32, died on November 2 in his room at the Grand Hyatt Hotel at Dallas Fort Worth Airport during a layover.
Irons' family has said in news reports that Irons suffered from dengue fever, a virus that is spread by mosquitoes in tropical areas.
However, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser has reported that, according to the medical examiner's office, methadone - a powerful controlled substance taken for pain - was found in Irons' room, along with other prescription medications.
Authorities said at the time that there was no evidence of foul play and that toxicology tests would be performed.
Iron's wife Lyndie and their newborn son are dependent on the financial well-being of a company established "by the celebrity of Andy Irons", the petition said.
"Should the autopsy report be released now, Lyndie Irons and her newborn child would suffer immediate and irrevocable harm in that the branding value would be greatly diminished as a result of the news frenzy," the petition states.
"It is anticipated that if the autopsy report is not released for six months, news coverage will die down."
The medical examiner's office did not contest the request, said Ashley Fourt, a Tarrant County assistant district attorney who represents the medical examiner's office.
Under the order, the report could not be released until May 20.
Hmmm, who's the cut&paste artist now...?
my thoughts.....,
of course the truth should be known,
how many surfing junior tackers are trying to follow in AIs' foot steps,
what difference would it make to those juniors to know that, no matter who you are or how successful you become... drugs will destroy you
you wanna sweep it under the carpet, you gonna have to clean it sooner or later
Andy Irons was probably the best surfer to ever ride a wave
Andy Irons' health was exploited by those who made money off of him
only a surfer knows the feeling...?
