Got beaten up by a group of youths with a side of property damage (they smashed my car/house up) the other week
Moderate hearing damage but hopefully itll heal well enough that i can kite and surf again but looks like i may never dive again.
If anyones a lawyer or knows one that maybe able to help me out thatd be nice. Currently trying to go thru legal aid i havent been charged with anything only have defensive wounds and luckily lots of people filmed it all so its pretty clear i was the victim / innocent etc
But due to the demographic of the assailants im being told that even if win everything in court will be tough to get any money out of them to actually pay the fees etc. So better off going thru victim assist.
Just wondering if maybe someone can kinda help me out a bit with writeing my statement for the police or something as i still havent done it.
Starting to be able to sleep again but yeah PTSD is pretty real. Apparently will need several months of therapy etc to try sort all the mental stuff out.
Anyways kinda at the point where i just need to ask for help... soooo yep... figure why not try here.
Surely you needn't write anything. The police do verbal interviews, they can dictate the dialogue.
Yeah bit to traumatic to like verbally relay what was essentially something like a half hour to hour long fight
Plus when you get smacked in the head enough times the sequence of events kinda becomes mismatched etc

Just cracked the 6 hour sleep mark for first time in a week and a half so im definitely on the mend but the injurys are bad enough that theres a little machine that measures pressure in your ears they went thru 2 machines and like a dozen different shaped tips that they try to seal your ear with and it wouldnt register a blip. So thats a pretty big concern...
To give an example of the sort of damage this sort of attack does my misses came upto visit me and i feel so not myself at all it kinda felt like i was cheating somehow .... its very very weird but apparently just takes time.
Anyways i just hope i can dive again one day cause plan was if i cant ever buy a unit in australia i would move to asia and teach scuba diving to get by.
like im very sorry it happened but is it a play stupid games win stupid prizes drug or drug associate related thing or was it completely random or robbery related ? One deserves way more sympathy than the other....

Based on recent (and current) events, I was assuming remery got upset with something Frothy posted. After calling him an idiot a few times he went around to teach him some critical thinkin' - remery style.
Probably best way to understand remery's anger would be to properly understand Bloom's Taxonomy. If you don't get it, then maybe remery could teach you as well ?

Ummm no not drugs it was 11 30 at night and i was actually in my van no **** i wish i was lieing but about to rant on seabreeze how wingdings are stupid and that ive been advoxateing drogue chutes rather then wingdings this entire time like last few years etc etc
Theres a stupid new kite wing ding which is a glorified 2 handled drogue chute you can actually check my post history etc ...
So if anything seabreeze caused it

Just to clarifiy i hadnt left my van since like 7pm and was hideing in it as i do with a pee bottle ready and a toilet at a park nearby incase of numner 2s which i havent actually had to resort to yet cause im pretty much one meal a day at lunch then hit the booze / maybe a spliff of medicinal weed to help sleep.
Im actually alooooot more helpful and friendly in person (constantly catching launching repairing kites for strangers on every beach im at) and ive worked in the kiteing industry since like 2010 but my alter ego here on seabreeze etc kinda kicked off around... 2014? As a result of haveing to always be the happy helpful guy due to sponsorship/business etc those in the field will know what i mean.
Anyways no hardcore drugs other then the occasional experimental sex thing or simply just eating whatever someone puts in my palm at a doof without looking at it for the last 20 odd years (very very small amount of hard drugs got to experience the pointy end of that stick in my teens and learnt my lesson back then)
So yeah hideing in van van suddenly feels like its moved a few inches due to some drunk kickboxer guy booting it and i stupidly jumped out to say oi wtf mate and then chaos absolute chaos. Lucky to be alive. Im glad im alive. Just havent experienced head injurys like this before. And i nearly die a few times a year for the last decade with my paragliding and solo diving activitys but this is entirely different when people are basicaly baying for your blood and demise
I was in porgera a couple years ago alot of gunfire teargas etc etc even a locals head cut off and honestly this was all a million times worse and i now have a HUGE NEW understanding for anyone that has ever had to endure and suffer a home invasion. It rocks you in a way that is unexplainable. But im slowly getting better. I just want to make sure i dot all my i's and cross all my t's if you would like to help but feel like i maybe the bad guy perhaps i can organise with the local investigateing police to talk tp you first to put my name in good ... steed? To vouch for me? I dont know... but its very clear im the victim and theres 10 + people apparently wiling to be acting witnesses for me but i dont actually have theyre names numbers etc etc only the police do
so in MY WORLD i literally only have my heart rate monitor and ive requested the 11m 39 sec 000 call i made in the hopes it has enough info to help me verify my statement for when i do make it but im just extremely skeptical because the police are trying to say there was only 1 asailant and 1 "unknown" person where as in my eyes there was clearly 4 assailants and they should have ALL been locked up that night but somehow allowed to be free and currently completely unpunished what so ever.
So im a bit new to this but if you are in some sort of liek who hit who whose the bad guy situation all you gotto do is look at theyre hands and thats exactly what the cops do they just ignore alllll the noise look at the hands and its pretty damn evident.

Yeah so ive printed out a bunch of flyers and will be doing letter drops tp the residents i asked the police if i was allowed to do so and they told.me they already had em all but i was legally allowed to do so so ill be doing that in a couple days once i go to my ENT specialist. Hopefully they can tell me if ill be able to fly/dive again etc due to the hole in my ear etc

Ive lived in townsville before and visited alice springs etc and worked in png and lived in various other 3rs world countrys and honestly theyre learning tactics from tiktok etc etc theres going to be some drastic changes coming. I probably should go to the media all things considered but i dont want to be the face of the movement. Ive never had my ear turn completely black before from a beating and im still picking bits of bitumen out of me a week and a bit later
Yeah that sucks. I had nightmares for years after a home invasion. Then in a separate incident a Brazilian kick boxer decided he wanted to punch the guy standing behind me so he delivered three blows to my head before I hit the ground, had headaches for three months after that.

Sorry to hear matey and thanks for shareing a few friends have come forward with storys and each one of them has helped me a bit but my god were the first couple days after the event were hard.
but thanks matey yeah im pretty amazed by what i THOUGHT was ptsd etc etc and what it actually feels like.
I didnt like SCOFF at people haveing "triggers" but i didnt quite grasp that simply seeing a rock on the footpath could mess your mind up a bit change my mood entirely even tho i had just walked past half a dozen simular rocks that were just off the path a bit but because one was just a few inches on the path itd remind me of it all.
And its like so damn weird trying to pretend to be normal in public not just from the hearing loss etc (if som?one says something like WINE it sounds like dine or fine or sign etc etc ) but just feels like weird that everyone else is normal and your kinda sitting there just generally uncomfortable and a bit on edge.
Anyways on the mend and its put alot into perspective just bloody thankful im not too far gone didnt hit my head on the road as far as i know etc and didnt get stabbed so coulda been worse.
Ill see how long the sympathy lasts with the missoe but yeah people talk about hitting rock bottom bit more of a stoned in the head moment for me.

Anyways essentially given up and accepted that they will get off without any punishment dont really want to waste any more energy thinking about that but still kinda want a bit of legal assistance just to make sure i dont somehow end up in the strife cause ya never know with how the legal system works and unemployed homeless surfbum doesnt really scream upstanding citizen.
Think im going to move in with the misses and go back to work seeing as im drydocked for a few months now.

Sorry to hear it man. And sorry to say also - forget any idea of the courts giving you anything. Basically if you sue, then win but they have no money to pay, the Sheriffs office will go seize property from them. But they have nothing so it results in nil. So no lawyers - it's not worth it
Your only chance is victims criminal injury compensation so you have to go thru with helping the cops as much as possible and then be awarded that compo

It's understandable.
I think the older we get the more we think we are bullet-proof and that people would listen to us. i think this is why you see stories of guys in their 40s to 50s that get involved in fights they have no business being in.
But its easy to forget that there are people out there that don't give a crap. They may or may not have anything, so it doesn't matter and they don't care about 'fair'.
I remember seeing some huge angry guy at one of the local supermarkets. I don't actually know if he was angry or just looked that way, but it reminded me that there are plenty of people out there that don't care.
If nothing else, you have reminded us all to be a bit careful of idiots.
