So, what rules do you play to?
gave up watching Aussie effort (lack of) & went out to yard to play
From these photos today:
hit the fence - 1 run
a catchable hit in the pool - 2 runs
. . .. 6 catches taken on the fly into water
1st bounce, one handed - out
over the fence - out
How about - one hand one bounce without spilling beer - you're in?
Plus - one hand, one bounce without spilling wine - 95 points
Maybe we could draft an elite squad of seabreeze backyard / beach cricketers to play the Poms.
I doubt we would do any worse than the current Australian national team...
So wineman you have a pool near the cricket pitch?
If you were in Perth on Xmas day you'd not have had much cricket going on they'd all have been in the pool
If you hit it on the roof.....out....unless it rolls off by itself which usually is an easy catch for someone.
If you hit the grumpy lady next doors house and she yells at you its a 6..If it wasnt heard by the grumpy lady its a 4......but the batsman must retreive the ball himself.
If the dog catches the ball on the full...out
If ball hit into bushes/tree/garden and is stuck in the branches,if fielded without the ball touching the ground....out..unless the batsman can get to the ball first and hit it out of the shrubbery.*****caution***this move has resulted in broken fieldsman fingers as the batsman and fielder go for the ball at the same time.
If ball caught with one hand and whilst taking a p!ss in the garden,no matter how many bounces...out...but fieldsman must not get a drop of urine on his feet.
If batsman knocks over anyones beer with the hit ball...OUT...and sent home.
If busted drinking drinking wine/crusiers/champagne etc you are banned from the game and bbq, can only eat salad and must sit and chat with the women folk about kids/shopping/makeup or what ever they do whilst we play cricket
Yeah Mark - there were a lot of diving catches into the pool that were no where near the ball.
Lotsa drinks too, so we didn't dehydrate [}:)]
