After trying to sell my 28 ft boat for about 1 year and deciding I don't really want to sell it yesterday (I went out and had a really nice sail) I joked I would cut the top off it when I was done with it and turn it into a swimming pool....
has anyone done this...
my boat is still way to nice to do this to but I could see it working with a fero cement boat vary nice blast the anti foul off seal the outside dig a hole drop the boat in pack with sand remove the inside seal tile pave filter ect.
Any thoughts
Cheaper to just get a poly water tank and stick that in
ive also seen a great septic concrete tank set up at split level with one spilling into another and pumped up, they did a 450 mm band of mosaics tiles around the top and pool painted the rest
looked wicked, tbh most people just use a pool for a dip n cool off , not as a swimming device
There are a few boats with water in them, but I think they are classed as shipwrecks. In all seriousness I haven't heard of this being done. Not to say it haven't though.
I donated an old half cabin boat that was turned into a sandpit. We weren't sure how the weight of the sand would effect the shape, so we half buried it. Worked a treat. Wouldn't imaging that water would be any different.
Ill buy your swimming pool if i i can sail it around south east asia
Wouldn't you rather a trip up the Queensland coast?
Is theyre shaboo and ladyboys there or something? Im not sailing anywhere unless sharkys broken them in first

Sail it not a problem sleep or fit in the cabin not so much it's an old race boat it dose not sit on an anchor(sails around the anchor) and the water slaps the transom vary loudly all night and the water in the keel compartment makes a noise like a tap running. You could tow it up the cape York and leave from there that would be a fun trip the trailer is good. I was thinking of going to north west island fishing with her that trip is a way away though.
