It comes to being that while many boat owners have special licenses, neither spear-fishers from shore nor low powered ocean going light dingy require a license hence no training either !

I am a bow fisher apart fly fisher, and i share my legal saltwater regionwith all spear-fishers,however,most spear fishersuse a hand spear or spear-gunbut the essence , they are "DIVERS".

One of the things i saw from the rocks i was waiting on was a person move in swimming and he pointed to a flag on a buoy that was obviously not as large and distracting as the type of flag in the following about spear fishing safety.

DID YOU KNOW (and how many didn't) ,there is a type of"international standard" safety flagfor spear fishing pairscalled atype-A or Alpha flag !Transport safety PDF document for spear fishers
maritimemanagement.transport.nsw.gov.au/documents/mmc-dive-safe-strategy-2014.pdf

URL: section: "Safe spearfishing".
.."Avoid propeller strike. To alert other vessels in the vicinity that there are divers on the surface ensure your safety vessel clearly displays the international diver-down flag "A" and that all divers in the water are towing a highly visible float with a safety flag attached."...

"what does severley know of" mean?
Is there something that is severe that I need to know, or do I need to know of something when I am in a severe mood, or is there something that only people named Severely need to know.
I haven't understood any of your posts.

In the context of "severe" , Are you aware there are often spear fishers around whom do not have a flag and these flags are sometimes present as variants as a very small buoy with a small flag making it difficult to realise a spear fisher is present where you are?
Are you aware of what those flags are and that spear-fishers may not have a flag up where they are, and they could collide with anything on the surface when they come up for air !
Finally, do you know these flags and markers well and find them existent often?

I think what he is saying that your use of English is unusual. I am guessing that it is not your first language, hence the use of words in somewhat unusual ways (for English).

I'm going to keep a lookout for the yellow flag, now that I know. Suspect most just use the blue/white dive flag.

What's the red flag?

The red flag can be used instead of the code A (blue and white flag). You would not use both flags at the same time. The yellow flag is a recommendation or option, used in conjunction with either the red or white and blue flag in order to improve visibility.

I do know the little blue and white flag means divers below- keep clear.

I'm pretty sure spear fishermen need a normal fishing licence!

I did believe that if you drove a boat under 8 knots and kept close to shore (400 meters) you didn't need any form of license.

Could be severely wrong.

Because of all the garbage of NSW legislation of how to bow-fish i looked up getting a power boat license and because the chances of getting fish within range of the rocks worth a shot for all the reach as standard length freshwater line has (government idiocy of no idea why the US manufacturers and US people buy those freshwater stream distance bank to bank line truthfully).
It's called a PWC license for power boats and there is a HP horse power limit and speed limit for non license power boats as shown on the URL page for the Guv site. Jet Ski is a separate license.

Essentially that is not the method designed by legislation here in Australia's states and territories but in the USA dependent the laws of the resources locations' Authority it is under dictate whether sub regulations are breached by committing some method of activity.
The legal classification and laws Bow-fishers must use in New South Wales is "spear-fishing".
I would gather it would be quite odd if it were underwater or more than wading, but a spear fisher is not allowed a visual aid and must use the "device" within its designated method of operation , ODDLY again, actual "spear guns" MUST "legally" and by manufacturer method of operation decree (how it can only be used) "load the spear gun under-water submerged".

those yanks crack me up. I look at the odd youtube fiishing video and there'll be four blokes fishing with buffs, sunglasses, hats full sleeves and long pants and a bird in a tiny bikini getting roasted. If i want to look at women ii'll look at women, but don't take a bikini girl and put a bow or a fishing rod or an ak47 in their hand and make them shoot it. If they genuinely do these activities then show the vid with them dressed normally ffs. Its like lingere footbal. Sounds great but is just the lesser of both past times. I mean how long does it take to duck over to tumblr or youporn and crank one out and then get back to watching videos of your favourite pastime by people that actually do it well.
