Just recieved this, thought it might actually be real,as was signed off by name i know well.
Hope you get this on time, I made a trip to Swansea,Wales and had my bag stolen from me with my passport and credit cards in it. The embassy is willing to help by letting me fly without my passport, I just have to pay for a ticket and settle Hotel bills. Unfortunately for me, I can't have access to funds without my credit card, I've made contact with my bank but they need more time to come up with a new one. I was thinking of asking you to lend me some quick funds that I can give back as soon as I get in. I really need to be on the next available flight.
Western Union transfer is the best option to send money to me. Let me know if you need my details(Full names/location) to make the transfer. You can reach me via email or the hotel's desk phone +447031804806.
I await your response....
I'm from Swansea and know plenty people there.
Get their location and I'll send some mates round with baseball bats the cash
Hey, there's a Western Union right near me. Give me the money and I'll send it for you. It's the least I could do.
Luckily for me i hardly ever get had, unlike pweedas who believes we're moving at 60 odd thousand mph and spinning at 1000mph and the air is miraculously velcroed to the planet travelling at precisely the same speed!
Please Cisco, don't tell me you believe too?
Peter, as the others haven't spelled it out (I think), this is a common trick where they hack into someone's email account, and send the same email to everyone in that person's address book.
It always says that they are stuck, and need money via something like Western Union.
Not really surprisingly, I think this catches out a lot of people who just want to help out, but it is definitely a scam.
Hey, could you help me out though? I am stuck here in Sydney and I urgently need a way to go somewhere there is wind! Somewhere warm would be nice, but I would cope if it wasn't. Can you wire me a couple of grand until pay day?
Hacking of online email accounts using web browsers, seem to be a more common occurrence. A few people I know have had their accounts hacked and as a result I've received strange emails.
I've always told them to firstly change their email password. Secondly to ensure their browser does not remember their password and thirdly do a thorough virus scan of their computer. If necessary wipe the computer and start again with a new installation of the OS.
Once an email account is hacked it seems not to take long for online banking to be hacked too and as a result for money to be withdrawn in Australia and then transferred overseas. Perhaps its one of those $$$ working from home situations.
That has been sent to my Seabreeze account last week! WTF????
Hi trere,
