Topic over in longboards piqued my interest & i gotta get a new needle for the vinyl...so.
What was yours add a story as to why if you can.
Mine was either Led Zeppelin 1 or Blind Faith. The Zep 1 was after a mate & I came back from a surf way back (68/69)then & we called into a guys place the mate knew. Family was/is worth a ****e load, we go upstairs here's this long haired, we all had it then, guy sitting in the bath tub doing a joint & listening to this unreal fken music on a plastic stereo in the bathroom. Music just blew me away, nothing like it around. How did he get it/.. turns out his old man said when I'M overseas what do you want , he says top 10 albums from wherever your are. Mine & music world havn't been the same since.
Whats a vinyl or cd??? Do they still make those things?
My first was an illegal mp3 download of gangnam style, omg, changed my world and taught me some cool dance moves at the same time.
Its so awesome that music has evolved into something now that all mo'fo's can enjoy no matter of age, race or religion.
I dont think music can get better than whats on jjj atm, timeless music that will be remembered for ever in history.
Thoughts??? lol
Dubstep is the best way forward for music and is the new future.
Def Leppard - Hysteria. Bought it with my very own first pay packet and played it on my AWA CD player.
LOL, its gone over your head hasnt it.
Will someone else explain it to him please, if I try I will be wrong some how.
My appologies mark if you didnt understand my first post, isnt aimed at you or unclethirsty?? Was a joke about todays music.
Again, attack the ball not the player please. Are we all good now? Can we get back on topic or do you want to turn it into another pointless post.
It must have .... cos I thought unclethirsty asked a real question not requiring pisstakes?
anyway mine was the Muppet Movie album on vinyl. It was a toss up between that and a KISS album. Actually I'm glad I chose the former, as it si now unbelievably rare. Understandably hahaha
Also cassette Michael Jackson Bad. It was so darn good back then
Looking forward to my next purchase.
Mark and Wind - Get a Room, also heard there was another release due called Lotof and Mark - Everybody does not care (heard it was a classic remake)
lol agreed, sorry youngbull, I should know better by now just not to respond when he attacks my posts. I have been warned not to take his trolled baits.
This is the exact picture on the first album I ever bought ( Can't find a pic of the cover??) Donovan.
Followed closely by Led Zeppelin 11.
Queen: The Game
Still got all my Vinyl, most only played a couple of times (copied to tape) and sleeved.
Wow, what a bunch of youngsters.
When I was about 10, my first album was "Gunfighter Ballads" by Marty Robbins, it contained his first hit "El Paso".
Then when I was 14, my first cherished album, which I still have was "Meet the Beatles", and that led me down the path of endless album buying. I still have most of them, around 1500, gathering dust and fading, but still very playable.
The first record I actually used my own money to buy........
Bob Dylan - Self Portrait
The first record I ever owned..............
Bought for me by a well meaning elderly auntie (bless her).

Bad was one of the early ones also
anyone remember waiting up all night listening to rage or the radio with your VHS or tape on pause waiting for a good song to come on to add to a mix tape? OR you would have to ring and request and wait for it to come on (they still do that now. seems a bit redundant! )I had a vhs with all the windsurfing bits over wild world of sports. I used to sit through 5 hours of ken sutcliffe and big maxie waiting for a bit of windsurfing. Dash for cash, classic robbie, bits from rigmarole etc. Probably still got it somewhere. Off to tie an onion to my belt
First ones I bought were a bulk lot from a clearance sale at Boans or someplace in town that no longer exists,
Sounded real strange until I worked out they were 78's
iirc $1 for all I could carry - bought them with the intention of turning them into clay pigeons
Hill billy stuff and Louis Armstrong sound real different with the handbrake on
