Are there other sports where even a moderate mistake or bad luck results in paying the ultimate price?
Are you kidding? Ironing makes you pole-dancers looks soft!
Honnold is a freak! I enjoy climbing, but only when I know that I'm connected to a rope with good protection or anchors. If you want to see free climbing at its best - I suggest you travel to Mt Arapiles (Vic) during the peak season and watch them climb without rope...can be difficult to watch and although you feel like shaking them and saying "what is wrong with you!?" You can't help but celebrate with them when they step off the rock with a satisfied grin.
Kite surfers would go
Eddie Aikau would go. Most kite surfers would be crying for their mammy.

Obviously you haven't seen me free iron.
In a past life. I have climbed with some of the best in the world, (I was sh..t. ) We climbed in very remote locations.. They would never free climb without rope....In virgin climbs there are too many variables

Saw one of these guys on you tube cant remember his name, he was amazing. Sadly it was a tribute video as he died doing it. But I looks like alot of fun still, over water maybe. Still you would have to be pretty ready to leave the world with any climb you did. Looks amazing though.
Sailing at the broad water on a week end with all the jetskis and powerboats around is a lot more hardcore...

If you're talking about Patrick Edlinger, he was the best climber of his time and actually died falling down the stairs at his place...
^^ jusavina thanks for sharing, that was awesome.
This guy freaks me out (he died in a leap/swing gone wrong). This is a speed free climb he did...
