Not a Freo supporter.
Reckon their window is now near on shut, despite what all the so called guru's will say, they just haven't come on as expected with the talent pool at disposal
Don't think it had much impact on the outcome. Hawks certainly were on the plus side when it came to awarding free kicks fo most of the game. Think at one stage they led free with an 8-2 number.
Rather disappointing to see officials masquerading as quality umpires dish out this sort of performance. They were bloody shocking
Rumours running now that maybe Ross is re thinking his position today?
Last nights team selection was a disaster with some of those selected. Tabinar was a shocker, hasn't performed in "any" game of any note to date, and last nights performance was a carbon copy of where he is at as far as ability. Maybe a good WAFL player, but not even close for AFL. Ross got a little testy when challenged after match review report went to air. Probably shows where Ross is at as well.
Pav, didn't turn in any sort of what he is capable of, and is obviously either well out of form, or injured. Never gets any respect from the men in white anyway. Probably because he isn't playing in Melbourne week in week out.
Playing injured lads with the likes of their gun midfielder was a real bad decision. Had little impact on the game..
Hawks were just too sharp for the team the Dockers put on the track. No idea why the Dockers are so thin on the ground with talent. Leigh Mathews summed it up after game indicating the Freo has at best a C grade forward line.. Never going to win much with that level other than home and away games.

Hawks deserved the win. Their ball handling was far superior, and goal like that Roughos (a leftie) from the pocket showed an all round better prepared team. Freo had moments, but they are not known for coming back after trailing as far as they did.

What was disgusting was some of the abuse from the crowd towards Hawthorn.

And I am a Freo supporter..

Not being an afl fan myself, I did watch that game last nite in the hope that hawthorn would lose

Derby final would be good for WA

But what I took from it was, that hawthorn backline are like robots.

Kinda reminded me of the good ole days ( pre million new rules ) where there were key players for key positions

Some pretty ordinary umpiring but at least they are consistent with ridiculous calls each weekend. We lost the game because we had some players who let us down. We can't talk about the alcohol fueled domestic assault otherwise Loggy and co will accuse us of racism but he certainly copped a flogging before the police got to him :)

I think our "window" is looking better than ever. Our midfield is great, we have 2 great small forwards but we do need a decent big bloke like Josh Kennedy. Pav was a great player but he should retire i think.

I think once we trim some dead weight we arent to far from a premiership.

The umpiring in both games this weekend was disgraceful, it was one sided and they had far too much influence on the end result.

Clown, every one wants to be a clown. Spoken like a true mexican
Free kicks when the damage was done = 2-8 then towards the end of game, some even uppers, but if you thought that the officials were on the money on Friday or Saturday night, your expertise fly in the face of all the so called media experts who haven't stopped howling about the officials, since North's got done.
Agree, Hawthorn way to sharp for Freemantle forward live V forward line.
Leigh Mathews summed it up after game, indicating the Freo has at best a C grade forward line.

Well just go's to show how out of touch the officials are when the umps rep is agreeing via radio link to his men on the field, that the free kick reversal was justified. That bloke needs to be walked slowly to the nearest Optometrist. What a fool.
Even the Umpire Manager for the AFL on TV a few days later, indicated that the umpiring fraternity were well out of touch in "both" games on the weekend.
Goodness knows what sort of interpretation we will get this weekend for the GF then
What is of concern is the noise all about "we need three men in white on the field" and they still cant get anything close to a balanced view on any infringement.
Hard game to officiate in, but with three blokes out there they still make a mess of it. They cant use reasoning "oh we were unsighted" as constantly they will be on other side of play, and call a free, presuming there was an infringement, or they will belt down the ground on a bad out of bounds call to tidy it up, which shows obviously they can see infringements but fail to act..
This shows they can see correctly, but fail to do anything about it in case of upsetting their mate who just made a dumb call.
One rule interpretation that gets people howling, is the on the ground raking the ball back in. Originally this was clear cut, and opposing players couldn't hold the man on the ground with body weight to enhance the chance of a free. Now they not only have two or three lay all over him, they pin arms so he cant get it out. They changed or enhance the rule so any player doing this was freed against. Very very seldom called any more. No wonder it turns in to a ruck and mall show like Union or League.
