Now in stores - yummy.

The best bit - they don't even bother to label it GM.

I was actually picturing getting a powerful torch and shining it on the back of peties head to see if a good dose of Photobiomodulation would have any effect on his sometimes strange behaviour and pattern of beliefs.

Peter can you read and absorb? Try this from your article:

"After trying for two decades, AquaBounty Technologies' GM salmon was finally approved for sale in Canada in 2016, which led to the most recent developments. "

That's rather twisting things........" trying for 20yrs"
So 20 years of testing and stuff to ensure it is safe before the Govt approved it? Sounds like it is safe.

"This process is established by modifying the firm's Atlantic salmon with a growth hormone gene taken from Chinook salmon"

That was even their bold font in the article BTW.
So it is still salmon DNA.
Its that same as crossing two dog breeds, its still a dog. Just a bigger dog.

FFS Pete. GM is making a totally new genotype, lets say using a flower DNA in the salmon to make to a different colour or taste.
Or the classic pesticide resistant crops.THAT is GM - the DNA is totally different. Its a new organism basically.
That did not happen here, its the same as two salmon from different parts of town had a bonk.

Don't forget the Shark hybrids
www.news.com.au/technology/science/hybrid-sharks-found-in-australian-waters/news-story/78fa6031225405ca73872d3275b47db7

"The predators are a cross between the common blacktip shark and Australian blacktip shark, two related but genetically distinct species."

Soon they'll be walking into your backyard and attacking your children.

GM has been going on for that long now I though just about everything we eat has been tinkered with. Probably started out with the simple splicing of the embryo of one plant seed into another variety.

Classic example is apples.

If we had the same yield rate for grain as it was a couple of hundred years back, a loaf of bread would probably cost 50 times more than it does today.

Please note that there are differences between GM and Selective Breeding. GM is when you introduce a "foreign" gene into the host. An example is introducing a certain gene into common food crops such as corn, tomatoes, etc. Selective Breeding is used for centuries by grain farmers to enhance the yields and other desirable characteristics.

I think P_Mac has, as per usual, jumped at a good story at the expense of facts.

The easiest way to GM any food product is to sprinkle them with chemtrail dust.

The article said the release of 60 GM fish could wipe out a wild population of 60,00 fish within 40 generations.

How would this happen?

Serious question.

serious answer??

either kill them off, or breed them out.

I'm guessing the cross-breed fish are bigger, more aggressive, possibly eat relatively less for more growth compared to "standard" breed fish, and the bigger, more aggressive and probably hornier males either kill or chase away the "standard" male fish to mate with the "standard" females.
