So I said to the Gold Coast council, the waves are crap at Miami,and they said, no worries, we'll fix it for you. 
Its the $16 million golden shower.
After 1or 2 weeks of operation we got a decent swell and hell sweep to go with it. That washed away any sand it pumped and then some. It was like mother nature said "yeah I remember when you used to waste truckloads of money on truckloads of sand in the 80s and 90s"
Unfortunately we have not only forgotten this but now all that money is going to the Dutch, instead of local truck driving contractors. 
I suppose that is what the paid parking (and the even more profitable fines) at Burleigh is for.
