My partner and I want to get away on weekends, and go camping, fishing and kite surfing hidden beaches and lakes, but we don't want a 4X4 with a camper trailer. We're hoping for an all-in-one vehicle but with good clearance and abilities to go off road.

Is there such a thing, with inbuilt kitchen, and bed? There's two adults and a child, so it does not need to be a huge bus either.

Thank you in advance.

This thing looks awesome. Is that a James Baroud tent on the top? I think they cost at least $4,000. Only problem for me would be I couldn't lock up surfboards in that setup. Could work if it wasn't a dual cab I guess.

I have spent a lot of time travelling in vans. Insects can be a drama.

yeh james baroud. Think they start at about 4k but this is the biggest with a full queen bed, looks to have good quality canvas/screens.
Some thing like this on a suv might suit the op

Yep, would be good on an SUV or even on top of a van. Could keep all your gear and kitchen and dining room in the van and sleep up top.
