I was contemplating an HTC One M8 upgrade... But I flashed a new ASOP ROM on my GS3 and now I have that new phone feel.

The CGI was amazing. If it wasn't for the complex movements in the animation, you would have sworn that they were actual toy tin robots scooting around on a concrete floor.
I watched it on youtube so I could email the link to a few friends.
Had to laugh at the comments slamming iPhone and Apple.
I think they missed the fact it is also having a shot at the generic "have to have the latest i-thing or e-whatsit" be it Microsoft, Apple, HTC or a home theatre. hahaha

Personally, I watched it on a computer (Windows XP) that is a hand me down. It lets me do what I need to do, I don't pull myself over having a new 1billion teraflops processor cos 3 of my mates just got one.
Even better I didn't have to squint at a 4" screen, or complain that since they changed the formatting I missed a millisecond of it.
We spent years getting bigger and bigger LCD screens for our PCs - and years developing basically 2 standard OS's that we all had.
Only to end up with everyone on tiddybiddly screens and moaning about compatability with ever changing phones.
The irony is delicious.
And what of the poor TV? Sitting there waiting for our attention, 'the idiot box' non interactive, people would say they loved the doco's now with the net we have all the knowledge at our finger tips and what do we do? Watch funny home videos on utube....
I think dumb people will do dumb things regardless of the tool used. An idiot living thru Facebook is a still an idiot living thru Facebook whether they be doing it on a phone or a PC, don't see the difference myself.
Personally I think smartphones are one of the best inventions during my lifetime. I don't sit it an office for a job and always hated having to boot up a computer to check a forecast or email or whatever. Now I can see a storm approaching in real time, pay an invoice, transfer money, or check a surf can to see if it's time to knock off all from the job site and in an instant. I absolutely love that kind of availability to information, it's awesome. Don't even get me started on podcasts ( my latest addiction).
Apple make really good accessible products to the masses. Their os actually made me want to use a devise (phone , pad, whatever) mainly because I could use it and make it do things I could never do on PC , it was easy.
I think the real irony is a bunch of windsurfers and kiters giving people **** about the keeping up with jones mentality.
