I've got the Monkey Box set on DVD had it for years and not sure where i got it, got the Goodies one mentioned but not sure where you can get all the episodes maybe JB HiFi.
Probably no chance of the Goodies being repeated on the ABC anymore, do you know any Icky Thump Panda?
Theyres a really terrible mainland chinese version monkey magic i wasnt aware of (not the one we watched on tv in aus) the costumes are all weird and falling apart etc. Make sure you dont accidently dow load that. Its like a porno remake of a blockbuster movie in comparison
Goodie goodie gumdrops
There is the new tales of monkey magic on Netflix it's actually an Australian production.
I've been watching it now & then .
I loved monkey the goodies ,Kenny Everat .
Its funny how in England they were considered adult shows & as such had to be on after 9 pm but out here they were kids shows .
I remember dad came home early once & Kenny was on & it was the episode with Pamela Stevenson in the bath with her tits out & dad said maybe I should be getting home early more often & watching kids shows with me

You had me intrigued. I remember Kenny Everett and 'the solid gold dancers'. I think that's what they were called.
This brings back memories. He is actually quite funny, but i remember watching some episodes as a kid and they weren't this funny:
Wasn't Monkey Magic from the great work of literature "Journey to the West"
I tried to buy a copy once, many many years ago. I recall it only came in several leather-bound volumes and cost the same as about 6 weeks pay or something so I never got a copy.
Probably download it on kindle now for 99 cents.
I got one or two seasons about 70 episodes or so in a double boxed set of monkey magic about 5 years ago off ebay
it wasn't too overly offence price wise but was still 100-150 or so..
It has actually aged really well piggsy you idiot
and the cloud when he pulls his two hairs off and blows on them
im going to try dig them up now and watch them
If you google monkey magic and click on the actress who played tripitaka you can see her boobs.
That always had me confused. Why was the character looking so feminine and it was supposed to be a monk?
The reboot seemed to make it a girl pretending to be a monk, which made more sense.
channel2 2 on a school night, The Goodies, KE, and Dr Who were pretty good entertainment, and educational
How else were you means to learn about pirate broadcasting, remote control black pudding and the monarchy?
KE was a great source for dad jokes,: my dad asked me what I want for my birthday.
I said a watch.
And he let me.
Rip Captain Kremmin.
Ah, yeah. I haven't got anything to play DVDs on. That Goodies box set looks really good : )
PIratebay here I come, i guess.
Its always was a woman pretending to be the monk Tripitaka who was killed & she replaces him & pretends to be him so she can free monkey & get the scrolls to save the world .
Some where there is a monkey magic reboot couple of seasons I believe can't remember if Stan or net flicks
Its always was a woman pretending to be the monk Tripitaka who was killed & she replaces him & pretends to be him so she can free monkey & get the scrolls to save the world .
Are you sure about that? I know the recent (Aus or NZ?) release has this plot, but I think they did this to explain having an obvious female actress in this role.
I think on the wikipedia it said something like the actress chosen for the role of Tripitaka was chosen because her feminine features more closely match the suggested likeness of that character, but it was still a 'he' monk.

Yeah, portable DVD players are at least $50 at Kmart or regular ones must be around $30 now...
It would be good though if someone could digitize these when you buy them though. Its one thing to pay for the DVDs, but it is less an less practical to play them.
