going to NZ north island this Feb. Where is some good areas for either kiting or surfing this time of year? Figure kiting best be away from pure rock coasts as I often get washed in!!!
Travelling in a camper with family to wiarapa from auckland and return via auckland. got three weeks..

raglan is a sick spot!!!turn off just before hamilton state highway one highly reccomend!!!
Pine harbour marina or eastern beach is a good place to look in auckland for a sesh!!!
If you have enough time taranaki is a sick spot can get huge waves!!!!
Foxton beach just before wellington highly reccomend!!!!
Bump! come on fellow KIWIS,, there must be heaps more great spots.. If it helps- my Mum and Nan are KIWIS.. February weather is predominantly south winds and swell as far as I can work out. Has any-one kited/sailed cape palliser or white rock/ tora region? Its close to my Nans..
Plummets being pretty mum right now, word is Taranaki is pretty bloody awesome for surf kiting.
When you're up in Auckland, if its blowing NE Orewa can be a good spot for a bit of a schralp in the waves (onshore mushy, but still fairly popular with surf kite fellas).

Let's just say that there is some real good waves on that stretch of Coast. Very isolated. Need a decent vehicle. Enjoy.
