Just watched a very cool Mexican movie called Roma. If anyone else out there remembers Wim Wenders movies, you'll love it.
The ballad of Buster Scruggs...
First 2 episodes are OK... don't bother watching the rest....1.5 hrs were wasted.
At least I don't pay for Netflix.
I found a little beetlejuice on my mulberry the other day
Sorry not helping you , Carnivale series is watchable if you enjoy dark vs light
Berlin Station SBS freeview series 1-2, series 3 just started and as mentioned once before "Bodyguard" on Netflix (Nothing to do with Whitney Houston version)

Alfonso ...something-or-other/mexican name also did Children of Men, and Gravity.
A lot of people get bored with Roma and turn it off after 20 minutes, but that is just the film setting the initial pace and setting. Their loss, it's the best film I've seen in years. It'll stay with you for days.
The first act is all very real, mundane. It sets a pace, setting, and the characters. It only changes from there (and gets very dramatic). Oh, and it's entirely in black and white.
I can see why this might not hold the attention of an audience raised on comic book superheroes (****).
But Alfonso is a master of slowly, slowly raising the tension. Here's that single, 4 minute shot from Children of Men that is a quick example o how he does the same over an entire film like Roma, or even Gravity (has to be seen at movies in 3D).

Absolutely, I can't stop thinking about Roma. The acting.........some of those crowd scenes, the drowning scene......incredible.

I enjoyed it, although it was very dark themes (the son with no arms or legs - !!! WTF)
I liked the country music backing
^^ no I like the westerns, especially when the main character is a singing cowboy...but, they killed him on the 15th minute of the film FFS ! They should have rolled the credits straight after that and it would go to my top short movies list
EDIT speaking of the short movies..the top one in my list is "the man from Hollywood" (from the 90s )with Tarantino: farken hilarious !
If you like political themes, Occupied is a good series. The premise is that Norway elects a Green government which shuts down oil supply to Europe. Russia takes over big oil platforms and then the rest of the country (Why? Russia is a big oil exporter itself) and Europe does not step in to oppose them. Not a lot of cops with guns, but plenty of people with conflicted motives trying to gain advantage.
I enjoy Netflix and movies, but my real passion is music, science and the art of bringing the two together.
If you don't get the urge to just weep in joy at the beauty of Eric Whitacre's work, ask yourself why not.
Bird box man it's pretty disturbing, also Sandra bullock has aged extremely well
I think she looks like Michael Jackson.

I'm sure the surgery didn't hurt.
Watched the Sharknado series recently, because boredom and it's like they just trawled the "plastic surgery nightmare fails" websites and just said "hell, lets give all these people a job." It's horrific.
On a very lighter and very entertaining note, believe it or not is Conan without Borders on Netflix. Not usually a fan of night time hosts but this travelogue with Conan Obrien is very funny.
Shooter the series is good. full on action if thats your thing.
Sex Education is funny as.
Brooklyn99 is gold!!
Watching the Ted Bundy series, disturbing but very well done.

Wait till you hit episode three,. WTF!! I didn't know much about him except that he liked killing (massive understatement) but what happens in ep 3 is just unbelievable,...so glad I wasn't living in the US during that time. Next level crazy, scary ****.

Yep, agree. He was a crazy but smart bastard.
Slightly different from Ted Bundy!!!!! We just finished Gavin and Stacy. A beautiful, funny and heartwarming show. I'm totally in love with Nessa.
Russian Doll. Started watching without too many expectations but now we're binge watching. Colonys pretty good too.
Ozark . Just finished first series. Similar to Breaking Bad for me.
Can't wait to get stuck into second series
And for anyone who likes the craziness of the '99' give "Cuckoo" a go, it's pretty funny but probably not for everyone.
