What would be the best way to fix up an old pair of titanium sunglass?
Spray paint? (Not to keen on this as it will chip easily)
Powder coat or Electroplating? (Can this even be done on titanium)

Spraypaint won't chip if it is quality paint and surface prep is right. I have done sunglasses with a light sandblast and oven baked Cerakote which is near on indestructible.

Dirty Dogs that were white, now all sniper tacticool:

Meh! Go to your local work wear shop and buy 10 pair of MSA Nullabors at $8 a pair.

You can electroplate titanium &you can get a variety of colours. In knife making they do that so they get rainbow colours effect. But its a trick not sure local electroplating place would know it.
What about some autosol or a metal polishing paste &polish it its not like its going to rust.
Come up like it was chrome plated in 5 min

That Cerakote looks like what I'm after in black. You don't know where I can get it in a pressure pack?

^^^ no such thing sorry. It is a specialty sort of coating. You could try the matte black wrinkle paint for underbody protection from an auto store?

I'm surprised that Cerakote isn't available in black!
Tac-black is all the rage in the USA!

As a readily available alternative - pot belly stove paint is matt black, can be bought in spray cans.

Take out lenses, strip glasses apart, clean up, degrease, spray, hang in oven at low[ish] temp. to cure?

[Has lasted ages on my SAKO's s/s barrel, and does a good job of stopping glare]

dunno if anyone is game to try this........

There is an Aussie made specialty coating - available in several colours.
It is used as a coating for cast lead bullets.

"Hi Tek" bullet coating,

Email: jandmspecializedproducts "at" gmail "dot" com

Easily posted - not dangerous goods as it is in a safe powdered form.
requires mixing with acetone for application - and curing for a few minutes in an oven, usually needs 2 - sometimes 3 coats.

When you think about it - this stuff needs to stick to lead, take the heat and pressure generated by the burning propellant, as well as the friction as it passes down the barrel @ up to around 2500feet per second.

One of the tests used for the coating is called the "hammer test" - you take a coated lead bullet, place it on a solid surface and smash it with a BFH.

If the coating comes off it has failed.

I have recovered fired projectiles from our range - and even with impact damage - most of the coating has stayed on.

It should be good enough for a pair of sunnies

Give your local pistol / rifle club a call - ask if anyone there uses the HI-TEK bullet coating, see if they will do them for you.
probably cost a carton

If you have no luck finding someone - sling me an email as I might be able to help finding someone near to you.
