Took the kids for a bush walk to the Figure-8 pool at Burning Palms this morning to show them where SHMBO and I got engaged many years ago.

Had to wait for 10 minutes to get even get close to it because of all the people queuing up to take a multiple selfies in every pose imaginable.

My theory is people like to talk about themselves. It's therapy. Nobody is listening. It's like going to the shrink and just talking away in the chair while they sleep.
Oh yeah, and the self talk now includes photographs. Of yourself.

So masculinity in the end cannot be characterized by the wealth, it has to be characterized by qualities like integrity, honesty, humility and a willingness to contain one's need for materialistic power.

Gotta agree with this. The selfie obsession is way overblown and annoying....

....however the use of a "selfie stick" and gopro session with a remote on a recent holiday allowed full family shots and videos at the touch of a button where before one of us was always missing or no one in the picture/vid at all...

Maybe I looked like a d*ck using it, but the personal worth and watchability of my family shots and vids went through the roof.....
